Accidental Map Librarian Workshops

Description: Any library staff interested in learning more about maps as a resources for your patrons should attend this workshop! Gain overall understanding of maps including how to read and use maps, special cataloging for maps, online map resources for libraries and educators, what maps a library should purchase, vendor recommendations, in-depth knowledge of the Colorado Sanborn Fire Insurance Map collection, with particular emphasis on the digital version of these maps soon to be online at CU Boulder Libraries.

Dates/Location:

• Both workshops run 8:30-4pm.
  
  
  
• CE Credit is available - you will automatically receive a certificate if you complete the workshop and follow up survey.
  
  
• Cost is $20 for the day which includes light breakfast and lunch.
  
  
• We will also be emailing you a short online survey (a pre-assessment) to get an idea of your knowledge on the subject. If you could please complete the survey before the workshop - it will be sent about a week prior to the workshop date(s).
