101 to 2.0: Rethinking Reference @ Your Library Reference in the 21st century can look different depending on a number of factors. Some libraries offer reference in person, some by phone or e-mail, or some not at all. You may have a reference desk, but maybe not. In this interactive workshop, participants will discuss best practices, learn database strategies, and gain a better understanding of the 2.0 attitude in today's libraries. Learning resources that extend beyond this one-shot workshop will be provided. Supervisor Training - Basic Skills Teaches the foundation skills and techniques to be a successful supervisor. Includes motivating a diverse workforce; communication; defining/communicating the task; evaluating employee readiness; training the task; listening skills; conflict management; performance appraisal. Krista Rahe from Mountain States Employers Council will lead this popular 2 day workshop. Last year we offered this class and it sold out so sign up early to assure your spot. This class is a part of the continuing Supervisory Series but you do not have to be signed up for the entire series to take this class. Making the 2.0 Magic Happen You asked for it - and we're prepared to deliver for you! At the CLiC Spring Workshops in Greeley, Grand Junction, and Pueblo, the Library 2 Point ... Oh! workshops generated a lot of excitement and interest. However, many of you let us know that you really wished that those workshops had been hands-on. We’re happy to let you know that CLiC and BCR are teaming up to make that happen! Join us this summer for a 6 hour hands-on workshop covering the technologies we just skimmed over in the spring. This is being offered for free to “Making the2.0 Magic Happen” participants (a $60 value!). The workshop is self paced,and should take about an hour to complete. You will be enrolled when you signup for the CLiC workshop. IMPORTANT: Working knowledge of RSS is necessary to follow this class.
